Our Farmers
We collectively bring over 15 years of organic vegetable, fruit, and flower production to work every day. We are land stewards and we love what we do!
Josh A.
Josh began his farming career in the spring of 2015 at a 5-acre organic vegetable farm in Alexandria, NH. It was a steep learning curve and a fun first year, getting exposed to farm life, the challenges, and all the work that goes into a vegetable operation. From there, he spent two years on the Crops team at Drumlin Farm, in Lincoln, MA. An expertly managed and sustainable 25-acre vegetable and flower farm. As a member of the Crops team, he honed his skills in the field and gained a deeper understanding of soil management and whole farm systems. He also learned the art of marketing produce by managing the restaurant accounts in the Greater Boston Area. After two amazing seasons at Drumlin, farming brought him to the Pioneer Valley where he spent 1 year as an apprentice at Natural Roots in Conway, MA, a diversified horse-powered farm. It was there that the farming lifestyle took root and as an apprentice he learned new skills including the basics of being a teamster, livestock management, hay production, compost management, and even got to do some logging with horses in the winter!
In 2019, Josh landed an opportunity to lease farmland on the Seacoast. It was an exciting opportunity to apply all the farming experience and education accumulated along the way, and to start a farm-business. He spent 5 years in North Hampton cultivating strong relationships within the Seacoast local food community through direct-to-restaurant sales, partnerships and collaborations with non-profits, schools, and assisted living facilities, attending farmers markets, and through a CSA. In 2024, business operations moved to Lee, NH where greener pastures called, an opportunity to cultivate more acreage beckoned, and where Roots in Reverie was born.
Miranda G.
Miranda earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a focus in Environmental Science and Sustainability. After student loans crushed her dreams of saving the rainforest, she stumbled into a work relationship with Josh while managing a restaurant in Portsmouth, NH. At the time Miranda was in charge of the menu, and sourcing ingredients for the restaurant, and Josh’s produce made a huge impression on her, and the customers she was serving. In 2021 restaurant management became tiresome, and Miranda quit her job to pursue something more fulfilling. After confiding in her now friend Josh about her need for a career change, he suggested helping part time at the farm he was managing in North Hampton. The part time job quickly became a passion, and she has been working for Josh ever since.
She is grateful for the education Josh and other local farmers have shared with her and continues to learn new skills each season, wheel-hoeing and tractor driving being some of the most memorable. At Roots in Reverie Miranda has helped establish booths at local farmers markets, manages the flower garden, and can be found every season obsessing over tomato trellising. She has eagerly settled into the farmer lifestyle, happily hibernating in the winters, and enjoys reading, puzzling, tending to her aquariums, daydreaming, and listening to spooky podcasts in her spare time!
Bria
Bria first started working with Josh and Miranda in 2021 as a workshare volunteer. She felt pulled to their operation as a way to work with the earth, learn to grow food, and to take in some fresh air and sunshine between her overnight shifts as a hospice nurse. Gradually, Bria realized this was more than a hobby. For her, it was the beginning of a full-life transformation. As her weekly four-hour commitment voluntarily turned into many more, Bria could not get enough of the garden and all of the wisdom, peace, beauty, joy and healing that came with it. She was regularly impressed with Josh and Miranda’s attention to detail in growing top quality food in an organic and sustainable way, as well as their relationship with the local community. She felt full resonance with this path, and happily took a part- time job at the farm in 2024. She is grateful for Josh and Miranda’s friendship, wisdom, flexibility and support while she figured out how to make this farmer dream of hers a reality.
With Roots in Reverie, Bria looks forward to continuing to grow as a farmer, team member and to expand and strengthen her skillset in different areas of the operation. Though she’s usually her happiest farm self when in the field, covered in dirt :)
Bria is a lover of life and the natural world. When not farming, she loves exploring all the special spots of the seacoast, from local beaches, farms, and nature trails, to bookstores, thrift shops and restaurants. She enjoys kayaking, running, surfing and skiing. Most of all, Bria enjoys raising, connecting and adventuring with her young daughters, Rosie and Millie and their dog, Sky.
